The Atlanta Braves will look for their 10th straight home victory on Monday as they open a three-game division series against New York. The pitching matchup has an underrated feel, featuring a pair of right-handers, Atlanta's Bryce Elder (8-6, 3.69 ERA) against New York's Christian Scott (3-3, 3.15 ERA). Scott has 92 Ks in only 74 1/3 innings, with Elder improving rapidly with a 1.88 ERA in his last four outings. Two elements of note: Scott is 6-0 UNDER playing against a team with a winning record. While Elder is 10-1 UNDER in home starts after giving up two or fewer earned runs in his last two outings. Thet are backed up with the Braves #6 bullpen and the Mets 2.73 ERA in the last month.

These two AL teams are two games back for the Wild Card and need to reach .500 to give themselves a realistic chance to make the postseason. Baltimore will face an old friend, who was just recently traded in Dean Kremer (1-4, 5.93), who has struggled all year, posting an 8.05 ERA the last month. Clearly, he’ll be extremely motivated to beat his old club in front of his new fans. The Orioles will utilize Trevor Rogers (7-7, 4.20 ERA), who is 4-1 in his past nine starts (seven that were quality starts), posting a 2.10 ERA. Know this about Rogers:

*6-0 on the road with a money line of -100 to -150.

*8-0 in road starts when playing against a team with a losing record.

*8-0 vs. an AL team with an on-base percentage .320 or worse in the second half of the season.
